Free Japanese 3d software, part 2
By Gianluca Panebianco, Published: 1 Dec 2000[part 2/4 : input|output compatibility and conversion]
Surfing in japanese sites I've seen 3d software names as "Doga", "Metasequoia" and others... they are completely free 3d software? What is the best? Are they avaible in English version?
I've recomend Metasequoia LE .
It is Free 3D software for educational or non-profit proposes.
It is available in English version.
Well, I think it is very easy to learn ,
but Help file is underconstruction.(T-T)
screen shot of Metasequoia LE
Do you know if exist some 3d format converter for these file type, and possibly in English (so I can install in my PC)?
I think Metasequoias is very available to convert.
Metasequoia LE: (FREE WARE)
Import: | MQO (Metasequoia) SUF (DoGA CGA System) DXF (AutoCAD) LWO (LightWave 3D) ROK COB (trueSpace) OBJ (Wavefront) |
Export: | MQO (Metasequoia) SUF (DoGA CGA System) DXF (AutoCAD) COB (trueSpace) X (Direct3D Retained Mode) SCE (SoftF/X) RDS (RayDreamStudio) POV (POV-Ray) |
Metasequoia 2.2 (SHARE WARE)
Import: | .LWO .MQO .COB .OBJ .DXF .ROK .SUF .3DS (3D Studio) . RSD (PlayStation) |
Export: | .LWO (LightWave 3D) .MQO .COB .OBJ (Wavefront) .DXF --- .SUF .3DS (3D Studio) .RSD (PlayStation) .X .SCE .RDS .ROV .RIB (RenderMan) .ASC (3D Studio ASCII) . WRL (VRML) and plugins... |
There is a problam .Rok Import often fail. Because "ROK" does not have data of polygon side though Metasequoia need it.
Share ware Metasequoia is available to ROK Inport Plugin, but Free Ware version is not. We have to align polygon faces. ("Object" Menu -> "align faces").
And ...
Rok Import PLUG IN for Light Wave 5 Intel :
Rok to LW converter (!!)
Unfortunatly This is in Japanese but very easy. This is the men
IMPORT OBJECT | only lines only faces both |
COLOR CONFIG | light middle dark |
for the .6ks format... There is not free converter.
.p3d and "mkm" is motion data.
Software "Mikoto" can export in .bvh format. but It is in japanese.
.rok, .mqo and .6ks are model data.
.mkm and .p3d is motion data. It always up to site with model data "mqo" or "rok".
Free Japanese 3d software, part 1

By Gianluca Panebianco, Published: 28 Dec 1999This page is only the beginning for a larger section I would like to open in this site, possibly with your help: a download areawhere you can download anything about '70's anime Super Robots: video, midi, wav, and (maybe) some 3D models mine and yours.
Now I start with an audio FX section: these are sound effects taken directly from anime TV. Actually I have only tapes of italian version, than the section for pilot's voices is only in Italian; for other sounds there are no problems...
I've this idea thinking to futures animations: I'd need sound effects to add audio in my animations. I'd search these files on the Web, but I'd found only a little. Then I've think to make myself that I need.
Fortunately many series, usually those producted by the same House, uses the same sound effects. For example, sfx in Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger and Jeeg are the same...
For space problems and to make easy download, I've dicided to make avaible sounds files in this format:
.wav - 11.025 Hz - 8 bit - Mono
You can use these files for your works (3d animations, video editing, Windows themes, Web pages, etc...), but remember to mention where originally becomes this file, that is: www.panebianco3d.com
